Dude, the TV stand looks very nice. Is the base going to be weighted?

Oh cool man, the LiPo I bought for this is dead. It's a 5 cell LiPo and has a voltage of only 7V. I've been stupid since I didn't measure it in the first place when I ordered the battery. So now I have no power to run the blaster with :(

Thank you Hobby King for sending me an empty LiPo!

Small tiny progress despite the battery problem. I made a mask in front of the leds so no wood will show to the outiside world.

I'll get 2x 9,6V 4100mah nimh batteries to replace the dead 18V lipo. I think I'll get them during this week and in best case will finish the build next week.

What kind of battery life can you get out of that battery?
I've used those types of batteries for ages in Airsoft and It never dawned on me that you could power anything other than RC cars and Airsoft guns with them.

    2x7,2V=14,4V

    14,4V*4,5Ah=64.8 Watthours

40W amp runs 1.5 hours with 60 Watthours battery IF listening to square wave audio at max spl.
With normal music material power drain can be divided by four. With normal music the battery lasts 6 hours at max spl. When spl is lowered by 3db battery life doubles. In practise my battery should last from day to weekend.

Completely epic thread, you have massive skill and talent. The sub you built looks so professional. What do you do for work out of interest? Do you get paid to use your building skills or purely for enjoyment?

Shame about the lipo, looks like its got 3 dead cells- thats pretty bad really, but in truth the quality control @ hobbyking seems to be getting worse & worse as they become more popular; lots of guys reporting dead or weak cells in brand new packs ( me included, got one cell in a 5s pack that wont charge above ~3.8v ).

Sterling work as usual though, this is gonna look *special* when its done- love that TV stand too :)
